Adult chimps range in height from 4 to 5.5 feet and weigh between 70 and 180 pounds. They have short bodies and long arms — even longer than their legs. In addition to opposable thumbs, they have opposable big toes, allowing them to grasp things with both their hands and feet. Chimps usually walk on all fours but are able to stand and walk upright. They are also adept at climbing trees, easily traveling through the forests by swinging from branch to branch. They also typically sleep in trees. These primates are among the few animals who are able to use tools.
